Our Association

Our association is a local, non-profit organization of individuals primarily dedicated to the care and promotion of the area surrounding the Harder Kulm (Interlaken's local mountain) and to community mountain and cultural activities. The purpose and objectives of the association are:

Maintenance and upkeep of hiking trails and infrastructure

Our association is actively involved in the maintenance and repair of hiking trails around the Harder Kulm. This includes installing and maintaining benches and rest areas along the trails to make hiking more attractive and safer.

Thematic and seasonal projects

Projects include the installation and maintenance of the "Harderstern," a seasonal winter lighting display, as well as a themed trail with information panels that provides visitors with background information about the region and its natural environment.

Furthermore, the association operates a historic arc spotlight on the Harder Kulm, which illuminates the Interlaken area with its beam of light three to five times a year in the evenings.

Tradition and Events

One particularly well-known event is our annual New Year's "Chäsbrätel" (cheese raclette) on the Harder mountain, where our members and guests gather on January 1st for the traditional raclette get-together. This occasion fosters a sense of community and also serves to raise funds for charitable causes.
